From local theatres to action-packed days out, Watford has something for everyone. With so much to see and do in Watford, we’ve put together an inspiring itinerary to help you pack in all the local highlights!

DAY 1

  • Spend your morning at this amazing, historical beauty spot and treat yourself to time out in the Green Flag award-winning open space which has been voted one of the top 10 parks in the UK for a number of years. Featuring the award winning Cassiobury Park Hub, state of the art paddling pools with exciting splash pool and water features, a booming bandstand, Daisy’s in the park café and Cafe Cha, as well as the Watford Miniature Railway and a packed programme of activities all year round, it’s a great way to start the day in the beautiful outdoors with the whole family. Situated besides Cassiobury Park, you can also take in the wonderful scenery in the 160 acres of woodland situated on the outskirts of Watford in Whippendell Wood.

  • After a morning exploring the glorious surroundings of Cassiobury Park in the fresh air, make your way back to the town high street for a spot of lunch and discover the comprehensive range of retail options Watford has to offer. From high street giants such as Apple, Primark, Debenhams and John Lewis to boutique specialist stores including Hugo Boss, Hollister and Jack Wills, there is plenty of choice to keep the whole family interested in spotting a bargain or two! Why not also rest those weary legs during your retail therapy experience with refreshments from one of the town’s many cafés and coffee shops located throughout the INTU shopping centre and high street in between flexing that credit card!

  • Watford hosts a very strong cultural and entertainment offering which provides a wide selection of options for your evening out. The Pumphouse is a thriving arts centre in the lower high street area of Watford that has been providing high quality artistic events for over 45 years and is a hub for new emerging talent in the region. A wide variety of shows and performances are on offer at the Pumphouse throughout the year including music, theatre, art, poetry and dance, and tickets can be purchased either online or in person at the venue. Before attending a performance, consider the broad selection of restaurants and coffee shops available in Watford within walking distance of the venue to start your evening in style.

DAY 2

  • Located a short drive from Watford town centre, The Grove Resort offers a tranquil countryside estate which is perfect for some rest and relaxation for all the family. Create your own special experiences from a comprehensive selection of spa and beauty treatments, outdoor activities and entertainment, plus a championship golf course with immaculate greens and stunning views that is open to all abilities with no advance membership required. Both the Glasshouse and the Stables venues provide the perfect location for a relaxed morning coffee break and a delicious lunch before heading back to Watford town for an afternoon of fun leisure activities.

  • Located in the heart of the town centre, Hollywood Bowl offers the opportunity for a spot of faster-paced friendly competition to bring the whole family together with 14 state-of-the-art bowling lanes. You can also enjoy a selection of freshly made American burgers, hot dogs, snacks and drinks in the Hollywood Diner, and challenge your friends and family to a game of pool or try out the awesome amusement area filled with the latest entertainment for all ages. Bring out your competitive spirit and create some sporting memories to last the whole year!
