When you’re planning corporate time, there are many solid business reasons for including some serious play time at The Grove. With 300 acres of woods, winding canals and a Championship Golf Course, it’s full of golden opportunities for healthy team-building.

A gathering body of research shows that spending time outdoors energises everyone. When people are enjoying themselves in nature, they feel valued, rewarded, motivated, concentrate better… and perhaps even come up with sharper ideas.

Here’s a roundup of the most popular outdoor group activities at The Grove. Talk to their events team about how you can build some bespoke time into your schedule. And for even more ideas, consult our team building partners who have innovative and imaginative ideas for creating unique and inspiring events. Think thrilling spy assault courses, team trails, any kind of country pursuit and so much more.

Majestic birds soaring, swooping and diving for the lure is enough to stir anyone’s soul. They’re the kings of the sky. At The Grove your group can get up close with our Woodland Hawking expert and take it in turns to see if the hawk will land on your glove, too.

Follow the meandering 2-mile path through Heath Wood where oak, beech and ash trees are home to nuthatches, woodpeckers and tree creepers. Further afield, there are another 2 miles for walking, running and mountain-biking… or let the fitness experts at our Sequoia spa lead some al fresco outdoor training sessions. The perfect way for delegates to refresh.

Get hearts racing with a lively game of tennis on our perfect courts. Our two courts are located inside the picturesque Victorian Walled Garden which opens in the summer months and comes complete with our urban sea gull-free beach, outdoor heated pool and plenty of green space for games of all descriptions.

The Grove is one of the UK’s most prestigious golf courses and we’d be proud to host your teams, as well as many of the world’s champions… Our greens are kept to immaculate standards year-round, and come complete with practise greens and pro support. Naturally, the perfect 19th hole is right beside it… The Stables bar and restaurant.

Just step outside your meeting room and enjoy fresh air and birdsong in our beautiful formal gardens which run alongside the whole hotel. Thanks to the efforts of historic and contemporary gardeners, the space lends itself naturally to break out spaces for brainstorming, planning and blue sky thinking in the sunshine.
