The spectacular floral displays, which span the length of the High Street, have been funded and put in place by Watford Business Improvement District (BID) for the 5th year running.

Watford town centre is once again packed full of eye-catching, colourful floral sculptures.

Watford BID’s floral sculptures comprise a total of 38 floral cubes and 82 three-tiered planters. They enhance the look and impression of the town centre, from the bottom of the High Street to the top, as well as on the adjoining streets.

A total of 57 hanging baskets have again been placed, plus pole baskets have been attached to lampposts. As part of the Watford BID’s ‘Watford in Bloom’ project, apart from the flower displays, you should also be expecting the planting of 3 yellow pianos sponsored from Electric Umbrella. These will be put in place when possible on different weeks, considering people’s safety and launched with different themes – watch this space for the latest news!

A significant number of the planters are being used as part of the road closures on the High Street, replacing the red fencing and bollards. The planters have absolutely changed the feel of the town centre, making it more attractive and welcoming.

Watford BID was set up in 2016 after businesses voted on its creation in October 2015. The BID sees a diverse range of businesses in the town centre join forces for the greater good of the town.
